About the course
Awasiwi in the native Abnaki language means "beyond, farther, more, over". In the woods near the Awasiwi Trail, and on South Burlington School District property, this course is a collaboration between the Middle and High School, South Burlington Recreation and Parks and volunteers to bring you South Burlington's first disc golf course. It offers short distances, tight lines and a fun challenge.
Awasiwi Woods has two 18-tee course layouts, regular and long, with 9 baskets. The regular course (which is short and sweet) is marked with grey boards at the head of the tee. Long tees (marked with blue boards or red flags) make the course challenging for veteran players.
Available all day, but during school hours please park at 375 Hinesburg Road (look for the pump station building with awesome murals) and walk the Awasiwi hiking trail, which should put you at the 2nd or 12th tee, or the end of Deane Street (only 2 spaces). After school, weekends and holidays park at the Middle School and walk across the fields behind the stadium. Better yet, use the GMT #11 City Connector City Bus and use the stop opposite the high school beside the firestation.
As this is on school district property, alcohol, smoking and vaping is not permitted. Don’t ruin it for the rest of us. Also, as it’s managed by volunteers, we ask that you keep the course clean and take any trash with you when you leave. If you can pack it in, you can pack it out. Make sure to check for people walking and biking before teeing off.
Did we mention its tight? And short? Precision is the name of the game here. May your throws be easy and the trees be forever in your favor.

Very short tight course, picking through dense woods. Two sets of tees (long and short), and two versions of each hole for a distinct front and back 9. New baskets are a great upgrade. Can be played entirely with a putter, provided you avoid tree bonks!
