History

Course Designed by Pat Bowles, Bryon Carter, & Stan McDaniel and managed by the Albemarle Disc Golf Association. The 18 hole course replaced the 9 hole course that played mostly along the lakes edge and where holes 1,18, & 7 are now creating a much more dynamic and safe layout for the Albemarle community. All funding and construction was done by the Albemarle Disc Golf Association.

Practice Basket: Yes, there’s one next to the long tee for hole 10 or on the right side as you walk up to hole 1 Parking Situation: Multiple small-medium sized lots Number of Holes: 18 Difficulty Level: Beginner+ (the shorts are great for new-ish players to work on their game) Cart friendly: Yes, some areas are a little steep or slippery Water Dangers: No Other Dangers: Other park goers Bathrooms/Water Fountains: Yes to both, not in the best shape but useable Tee areas: 2 sets of concrete tees (shorts and longs) Benches: Yes, almost every hole had one Trashcans: Not on the course but in the parking lot area or bathrooms Signage/Wayfinding: Signs on almost every hole with wayfinding being decent, still best to use UDisc to find your way Overall Rating: 4.5/5 Rating Reason: A fun course for all skill levels, a nice course with a good mix of wooded and open holes with some shot shaping required and a little bit of power for a birdie chance. Intermediate+ players will enjoy plenty of ace runs from the shorts with a nice challenge from the longs. Highly recommend if you live within an hour of the course. Improvements: Fixing one of two practice baskets (had a bag and tape around it during my visit), as well as fixing some of the bridges that seemed not in the best shape, maybe a trashcan or two out on the course. Other Notes: A playground for the children to play at and picnic tables and a cool dock.
