Punches above its weight for nine in terms of shot variety and just overall fun. Teepads are just beaten in dirt, no concrete. Would definitely play again though

John Bryan is a fun, quick course with a good mix of open and technical holes. The first four holes are mostly open and clear, but tee pads have trees or low branches on approach, which adds some sneaky challenges. Hole 5 plays a bit tight on the right side, and from holes 6 through 9 the course shifts into much tighter, wooded fairways that really test accuracy. The tee boxes are just dirt—worn down and not very well marked—so footing can be tricky, especially after rain when the later holes get muddy. Signage could definitely be improved, though navigation isn’t too difficult if you’re using an app. Overall, it’s a short but enjoyable course with some unique shot shapes, a couple of frustrating quirks, and enough variety to keep it interesting.
