Pretty good course, just a lot of the baskets weren't visible from the tee, and that makes it hard to play

This isn’t a critique of the course as much as just hole 5. There’s a bit of unintentional gatekeeping going on at courses in Cache Valley. This and Bandits hole 11 are the most notable examples. In an effort to match the skill of the most technical players in the area, the pin location was moved in such a way that bars beginner and intermediate players from getting a fair shot at par. I believe a good public course is one that challenges advanced players while maintaining the appropriate level of play for all layouts. It doesn’t sacrifice its easier layouts to service only those at the top.
